soft strength

How you see yourself differently after everything you’ve experienced feels like remembering yourself at 30 and then at 40 and now ~50ish. The woman in the mirror looks different.
Trust, I am my biggest critic. Not because I’ve changed physically, but because I KNOW me.

Things nobody tell you - -
-You become more protective of your peace
-You recognize patterns vs making excuses for them
-You understand time is more valuable than money
-Some relationships stop making sense
-You’re less interested in proving yourself
-You can be insecure even when you’re confident
-You can love someone and still recognize something isn’t working
-You can still put on a pink skirt and take a damn picture
I don’t need permission to feel good about myself. I know who I am. I know what I’ve survived. I don’t need anyone to validate my existence.
Women evolve, and at this point, for most of us… it’s about having real conversation. Embracing getting older. Finding grace and reinvention for this next phase. Remaining confident. Holding on to joy, and consistently remembering who the hell you are along the way.
Self-awareness allows me to spend less time looking in the rear-view mirror with more focus on what is right in front of me. Grateful for the journey and those bumps in the road that built resilience. The word says, God will meet you right where you are. Mark 2:17“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Jesus consistently approached people in their specific real-life mess! He sat down with me, He cried with me. He laughed with me. He showed me He has my back, and He’s with me daily.
I can see the magic in your life
But they don’t know
That it took you your whole life to rediscover
You’re only here to love and to be free
Oh’ oh life will be
Just you believe in you!
